Tai Jitsu Do Karate, this Martial Art is a style of Karate which is Shotokan based
This style was born in 1995 under the name of The Sheffield Academy Of Karate, by the Chief Instructor Rob Brown Sensei, and the using of mats was introduced to the style in 2000. Rob Brown Sensei had trained at a number of clubs over the years which used mats for ground fighting, break falling, throws, and other takedown techniques and thought, this was the way forward for his style.
Looking in great detail of what Rob Brown sensei wanted to put together in a style which would cover all walks of life from the strong to the weak, from the big to the small, from the tall to the short, from
the young to old, from the able body to the disabled, and special needs, from the well-controlled to
the uncontrollable, everyone as the right to improve, even if it’s only small, to others this could be like
running 26 miles, but to you and me, it may be like a walk in the park.Tai jistsu is a Japanese blanket
term for any combat skill, technique or system of martial art using body movements that are described
as an empty-hand combat skill or system. The term is commonly used when referring to a traditional
Japanese martial art but has also been used in the naming of modern martial arts.
